Willpower is Unreliable – Here’s What You Need Instead

You’ve been told at some point in your life that you need willpower…

to eat healthier, exercise, say “no” to a 3rd cocktail or a second piece of dessert…

But what if I told you that’s not true at all?

You might think it’s true, because you’ve tried to rely on willpower to do, or not do those things.

And then you run out of willpower (because that’s actually SUPPOSED to happen), so you make it mean that you need more willpower.

That there’s something wrong with you.

But there’s not. You don’t need more willpower.

You need to learn skills to make it easy to follow through on your intentions.

Skills that aren’t taught by our parents, in school, or in society.

Skills I teach my clients until they’ve been mastered and turned into habits.

So, it’s not you. It’s not a lack of willpower.

It’s just that you haven’t been taught the skills.

And it’s also that our normal human brains can get in the way of our true desires, just by nature.

All of which I explain in the latest podcast episode, “It’s Not You, It’s the Diet.”

I tell you the types of skills that are WAY more powerful than willpower. The skills you actually need.

You’ll feel more clarity around why you’ve had a tough time sticking to a healthier eating plan, which will help you stop blaming yourself and feeling badly.
