Mindset Shift for the Most Impactful Weight Loss Goal

With the New Year quickly approaching, you might be thinking about your weight loss goal—or perhaps you’ve already been working on one. Either way, this episode will help you get so much more out of your goal.
Let me ask you this: How many times have you set a weight loss goal based on a number? Maybe you felt excited at first, but that excitement fizzled out, leaving you feeling stuck. Motivation wanes, and suddenly, sticking to those new eating habits—or even some exercise routines—feels so much harder.
The solution? Shift your focus. We’re going to stop having tunnel vision with a number on the scale, and start focusing on how you want to feel. This single mindset shift can make your weight loss goal more meaningful and sustainable.
A Quick Exercise to Shift Your Mindset
Let’s do a short visualization exercise. If you can, safely take a moment right now to picture your future self—maybe six or twelve months down the road.
- How do you want to feel when you wake up in the morning?
- How do you want to feel when you look in the mirror or walk into a room full of people?
- What would life feel like if you didn’t struggle with eating habits or weight?
And one bonus question:
- If you felt that way, what else would you do with your life that you’re not doing now? Or what would you do more of?

My Coaching Philosophy: Focus on Feelings, Not Numbers
When I work with clients, we don’t focus solely on hitting a number on the scale. Instead, we build healthy habits—especially eating habits—that naturally lead to sustainable weight loss. These small, manageable changes are easier for your brain to accept, making them more effective in the long term.
But here’s the key: I also help my clients feel how they want to feel ahead of time. Confidence, self-love, and worthiness come up often, and I guide clients to see how worthy and capable they already are—before any weight loss happens. You don’t need to hit a number to start feeling amazing about yourself.
As we work on healthier eating habits, sleep, hydration, and managing stress, you’ll start feeling physically and emotionally healthier before you reach any specific weight loss milestone. This approach makes the journey enjoyable and motivating, no matter where you are in the process.
